Song is sung by our most hated rivals and a club that clearly identifies with a staunch enemy of this Nation.

Very surprised by some of the comments on this thread...this is supposed to be a BHA forum unless I am gravely mistaken?

At the risk of being banned (but i will feel justified)

Who's joking? You should be trying to get rid of the song at your own club then, the problem is much worse there.

My town (now city) was bombed by the IRA, so I don't sing the same songs as people who affiliate themselves with them. Simples. I don't sing pro-Nazi songs for the same reason, no matter how catchy they are (that one in American History X stays with you for days).

THE SONG HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PIRA. WHAT THE f*** ARE YOU ON ABOUT? (turns caps off)

If you are accusing me of being a supporter of the ira then plainly state it in writing
oh so was my town, i was 200 yards away when it went off

I haven't accused you of anything bredren. I'm saying the song was made famous in this country by a team that is linked to Irish rebels, so in turn singing it (in my humble opinion) is disrespectful.

But not every Celtic fan is pro IRA, It is abit ridiculous. If the song included words to the effect of pro IRA then you'd have a point but it doesn't. It's just a football song singing about following their club made famous by St Pauli.

In the same way that the buses advertise washing powder but you wouldn't give the driver your dirty laundry to clean!

Sorry fella, similar to a number of people in this thread, I don't follow your logic. At the end of the day, these are footie fans, not the Bader Meinhoff Gang FFS. Most are singing in support of their football team, trying to drown out the opposing fans not making some political statement.

Ease off a bit!
