There will be bigger and better jobs for Gannon to do.

No there won't.

Lets face it, the players he had at Stockport were an exceptional bunch of youngsters and he was lucky to inherit them when he did. Now he's unemployed and is faced with managing a team at bottom of League 1 at best...Not even Oldham looked at Gannon.

Football is a fickle game and unless he gets back on the football bandwagon quickly, then he will soon be a forgotten man and he'll live to regret what could have been with us.

He's not faced with managing a team at the bottom of L1 since he was sacked a few weeks ago! Even more to regret i feel.

Did he inherit the players or did he go find them? I thought Stockport were in very real danger of going out of the league when he took over and he turned it around? Who knows what the future holds, if he stays with Stockport, should they be rescued, they can consider themselves very lucky it seems. He will have no trouble getting another job and I like the way his teams seem to play football...I'd have loved some stylish football at Withdean more than outright success at the moment. I hope Slade can also deliver it, but gannon would definitely have been my 1st choice.

Gannon made his mind up very quickly with regards to the Albion offer. He knew about the financial problems at STOCKPOT and would have taken into consideration what was happening at Brighton. I wonder whether he questioned Brighton's financial situation in his mind being an accountant. I really doubt that he will be loosing much sleep. I hope that you, supaseagull, would have put your family first if you had been in Gannon's position. May be you are right, but thank god we can all post our views on NSC
God bless

How did he do the best for his family by keeping his job at a failing business? All he did was pander to his wife's fears about moving away from home. He was pussy-whipped into staying where he was when he knew he should move for the sake of his family. He didn't and within weeks he was laid off.

How is that in the best interest of his family. Total misty eyed crap.

But it is more then that. His children are settled in their schools with friends etc.

Has it crossed you mind he may have been earning big bucks at Stockport and can stay put, or in the area and do Ok for himself. The only confusing aspect to me is why he bothered to come for the interview? It's not like he's gonna struggle to get another club closer to home, and probably in a higher league position than us.

I admire Jim Gannon's loyalty towards Stockport and bear him no ill will at all. If he can help put a bid together to buy the club then good luck to him.

I bear the man no ill will, but he's in a business where mobility is part and parcel of the deal. I get bored of hearing that he was loyal to the club and in the best interest of his family.

From what I have read it is his wife who was insistent on not moving and he bowed to that. He is now out of a job. It may have been loyalty or a commercial gamble but without a doubt he was highly influenced by his wife at a time when he clearly could see the baliffs were at the door.

Quite right..

Could have moved the family to Brighton - let's face it - a f***ing cool city. Lived in a plush house, sent his kids to good schools, managed at Falmer and had a decent transfer budget.

f*** Gannon. He said no.

SLADE is the one true God.

Can we not just let go of this Gannon obsession, please? He was offered the job and he made his decision. He behaved with dignity and professionalism at the last game of the season and I'm sure a man with his record will soon get the chance to manage at a more stable and ambitious club soon. Good luck to him.

Round the back, by the bins.
I can't see why so many have a problem with Gannon.
If he had said yes to us then maybe we would be in league 2 now.
Just a thought.

I am not so sure about the " loyalty " and " family first " card he played. It could just be he did not have the bottle to take on the considerable task at the time and took the safe option.
