Watching the Summers on the box today I think our progress over the past season is measured by the fact that I doubt if either of Messrs Harding or Hammond would hold down an automatic place in our team. Even though they have played quite well so far.

Looks a bit of a kick and rush sort of game, none of the silky skills Gus would demand.

As for the Scummers strip, it may have been their first colours in 1885 but it's like us having a white strip with a single blue cross stripe. Hmmm?

Not so sure myself. I think Hammond could definitely do a job for us and we missed him badly. Harding, well the circumstances of his departure seem to cloud our opinion of his ability.

I think Hammond might have prospered under Gus, being a midfielder who can score goals (who we have never really replaced, to be honest).

I don't think Harding would get in the team ahead of Painter though.

Crofts was much better than Hammond - he made far fewer mistakes. Sparrow should be even better.

Sparrow has made a promising start in the goalscoring midfielder stakes!

selling hammond and never replacing him was when things started to unravel a little bit for us - think he would definitely be in the team if still here

harding is a tricky one - definitely better than mcnulty, and if he had have stayed we wouldnt have had the need to bring painter in, so you could probably argue he would playing too if still here
