Brighton factually.....
Like the idea of a giant flag.
Less keen on what's currently proposed, for all the reasons others have stated.

Keep it simple, and timeless:

SEAGULLS across the top
Club badge in the middle
SUSSEX BY THE SEA underneath.

:albion2:

Something along these lines, not players or managers on it, that could go tits up by January….

Firstly, do the club currently store the 'Withdean to Wembley' giant flag we used at the semi final? If not, they should be, so that can be used at home games. Or is it too big? Some communication needed here between the creators of that, the fan advisory board, and the club. Exactly the sort of thing the FAB should be all over.

Happy for a new flag to be created but if the previous one can be stored and used at the Amex, then its begs the questions why fund and make a new one?

If using the old one isnt viable then yeah lets make a new one. But as others have said, if we make a De Zerbi one it will potentially be obsolete in a few years. Im happy for a De Zerbi one to be made if the plan is to get good use out of it, and be used at say 5 or more home games a season. Or maybe a timeless Albion design is better all round.

Also I wouldnt suggest the idea of passing the large Albion shirt over the north stand. Too awkward of a shape to be passed overhead in a decent way.

Lastly, with things like this in mind, a suggestion I would have is for us to create and crowdfund some smaller flags which can be positioned on the back wall of the north stand along with the 'stand or fall' banner. A patchwork of flags would look great there instead of the blank grey wall.

Wanted to get it so we did not get people multiple voting.
The options are
De Zerbis Blue and White army
Roberto De Zerbis Brighton - Talking Italian
Benventuto De Zerbi
Forza De Zerbi

Let me know and I will add your vote.

Thanks
Clive

If any of these get used, its Forza De Zerbi for me. Keeps it simple.

Is the talking italian one in reference to the bananarama song? If so, no thanks. Too vague reference, that probably only people of a certain age will get. Unless i am totally misunderstanding the reference.. Just seems a bit odd.

Giant Flag yes, De Zerbi flag no. What if he turns out a complete dud? Seems unlikely but it's possible.

Feels a bit forced. Would rather have someone who has gained legend status like Dunk or even Pascal

Why does the said flag even have to have anyone's name on it? The only thing that will live on long after we have gone is the club itself, isn't that enough?

Can you add an option for the text below?

‘Some things money can’t buy - football isn’t one of them - De Zerbi.’

I think the idea of a giant flag that we can move along over our heads is a great one, after all we have had similar before, both at the Amex, and more notably previously at Withdean.

What l do think is pointless is putting any manager or coaches name(s) on it, the moment they leave then the flag becomes redundant.

The best flag at Withdean was the big brown envelope with 'To Chesterfield' written on it that passed along the South Stand! Unless that was some weird dream I had.. it was a long time ago.

The Nigel Adkins one was better

As I don't have a Facebook account I can't vote but I'd stick a fiver in to a GoFundMe or whatever for this.

Am I missing the point a little here. If the club are happy to store a flag, bring a flag out for every home game, then why don't they finance said flag, with input from the fans as to what goes on it?

Or is it that the fans want "ownership" of flag, so it's a fan thing and not a club thing?

The club could do what you say, but so could the fans (with a little help on storage logistics). These things are just sometimes better and have more meaning if fan generated. The idea for this flag first came about because of a fans want to show support to the new manager.

Yep, understand all that. I guess my feeling that the fans want to "own" this rather than have it foisted on them was correct - fortunately the club are happy to facilitate!

So we have a little over a week to get it together.
If it doesn't work out then we could always fall back on cards across the East spelling out 'welcome Roberto'.

Or something?

Fascinated to know why people think a big flag will help the atmosphere!

The idea is more to hide the empty seats in the East that the TV cameras point towards. It will be passed back and forth along the East mirroring the movement of the action on the pitch/the SKY or BT camera's focal point.
