I really enjoy popping out to the local cafe occasionally - coffee, newspaper, full English. Given the current lockdown this is a cruel thread to have started.

At least half that list doesn't belong anywhere near a proper full english so I guessed I answered the question?!

Poached eggs on buttered toast is hard to beat and predates the great fire of london ( toaster incident)

Bacon joined in soon after, on a larger scale in the late 1700's . . . . When Glen Murray was born ;-)

Hash potatoes, or browns were invented with the football league

Baked beans are evil as a breakfast food stuff.

Never seen liver on a breakfast menu before, kidneys yes but not liver.
Opted for black pudding though can't find a decent one here at all, they taste all antiseptic when cooked.

Definitely this. How on earth/why food outlets think they're acceptable on a full english menu I don't know. It's almost as disappointing to find the HP bottle has been filled up with some cheaper 'own label' muck. As if they think WE can't tell! Technically illegal too

And it's got no bubble, complete joke of a thread Crodo :annoyed:

Absolutely. Bubble, bacon, pork sausages, scrambled egg, tinned toms, fried slice. Brown sauce.

I wouldn't blame anyone for picking a different selection, but bubble has to be among the possibles. And a toast/fried slice option.

Strictly speaking, a full English is one rasher of bacon, perhaps a sausage too, a grilled half tomato, a field mushroom and a fried egg. Served with tea and toast. That is plenty and your lot. Everything else is sundries and came later. Baked beans......for goodness sake!
