The Wookiee
Back From The Dead
Considering the amount of Irish legends we've had associated with the club (Gerry Armstrong, Liam Brady, Chris Hughton etc .)
It does seem silly to sing anti IRA songs.
What have they got to do with the IRA ?

That's the trouble with you being a foreigner, you wouldn't understand that they (the IRA) were the other side , and they murdered lots of people from the "side" you claim to be a part of , and lots of people from that side who did lose loved ones don't find it as easy to move on as a New Zealander who wasn't affected in any way, and , and take a bit of offence at being told to do so.
What have they got to do with the IRA ?
Still don't get why somebody would be offended by people slagging off the IRA ?
They played for the Republic of Ireland? (not including Armstrong)
I was in a pub the other week, talking about the grand hotel bombing, saying how terrorism is wrong.
I guess the human race can also be split into those who sound like a pompous @rse and those that don't - and you sit squarely in the first category!
I have no idea who this group was - but it may well be some of the lads who drink in the Railway Bell who over the last few weeks have been raising money in support of a fellow Albion fan (and his family) who is seriously ill with cancer culminating in a fund-raising do last night in the pub which has raised £8,000- in total - just saying!
Controversial thing to say.....
What's controversial about that ?
Not stating the obvious.
You've lost me there, why is discussing the grand hotel bombing controversial ? We were also discussing 9/11 and the bombings in London, all agreed they were atrocities that were wrong !
Not stating the obvious.
So you are tarring all Irish people with the IRA brush, and you think we shouldn't be anti IRA and all of the horrific murders they committed, because we've had a few Irish players.
Yes they have , and I count myself amongst the people that have , despite the IRA killing 4 of my comrades and trying to kill me once ,what I do object to, is being told how i should move on , by someone who is a foreigner , and who had no direct experience of the IRA or their terrorist activities whatsoever.and fortunately lots of people from both sides who did lose loved ones have moved on, as have the British and Irish governments along with the vast majority of the adult populations of both countries.
Why do we need to be anti IRA if we support Brighton and Hove Albion?

oh you thought I supported the bombings ? Jeez !Phew!
