I have just discovered that an ancester of mine, Henry Lock Kendell, was Mayor of Croydon from 1958 to 1960.
How do you live with the shame of something as devastating as this?:(

The world was a better place back then,i'd not worry about it too much..

I think it's fascinating to discover what your ancestors did - whether good or bad. I have an ancestor who once arrested Gary Lineker's great great grandfather, for stealing a scythe. And Lady B has an Australian ancestor who, much to her shame, fought for the Confederate Navy on the CSS Shenandoah, in the American Civil War.

A family member of mind has been doing a lot of research into our family tree, and discovered that me and my siblings are some form of (2nd or 3rd) cousins, however many times removed to the last Plantagenet king, Richard III.
