OK I am being picked up by the missus after the Middlesboro game and have the following question.

She is coming from Lewes so where is the best place for her to stop and wait for us?

She is not too keen on the whole idea so somewhere easy would be good!!

For some reason the road up to Coldean Lane is always heavy with traffic. There is a lay-by on the A27 just before the Falmer exit that has no match day parking (1 hour only). There would be good but others may have the same idea and it could be full. Good option would be her to sit in the lay-by just outside Lewes, you call her when in place and just stand by the roundabout on the flyover between the Amex and university. Always heavy there so no problem to stop for 5 seconds. You jump in and she returns to Lewes. I did see a few cars actually park on the road into the stadium complex but she may get moved on. Finally, is a train to Lewes an option?

Head off the A27 towards Coldean and Brighton, take the slip road not the flyover. At the bottom of the slip road is a set of traffic lights, turn left onto what is a dead end road that provides access to the Bridge car park. You can pick up safely here though you will have a ten minute walk. Once in the car head back to the junction go under the flyover turn right and you are now back on the slip road that allows eastbound access to the A27.

The police will NOT let her stop near Falmer Station or the bus stop outside of The Amex she can go just past Coldean Lane and sit in the service road there which means a 10 min walk for you.

About 50 yards before you reach the bus stop, there is a left turn. My brother's wife often picks us up there with no problems.

I'd 2nd Theatre of Trees. Keep left heading towards Brighton and old school road, under railway line, I think, is a designated pick-up point.

When my girlfriend is "not too keen on the whole idea" usually just makes me more keen. Just saying. She'll wait. I wouldn't worry overly.
