My dad knew this ages ago, about Iceland taking over the old Woolsworth store in Boundary Road. That is good news, I'm still going to apply there when it is up and running mind you.

Is there not already an Iceland on other side of the road! Granted it's not as big as Woolies site and is good news but I guess the current shop will close so there will still be an empty shop.

:dunce: Maybe not seem to have got my Boundary and Blatchingtons mixed up. Confused as Boundary Road is not Hove

Boundary Road is right on the border of Hove/Portslade. I worked there a few years ago, and was amused by the fact that the west side of the road is Portslade, and the east side Hove

I've heard rumours that Primark were after the Worthing Woolies! I do hope so cos it would save me traipsing to Brighton to visit the clothing mecca!

The West Side at the top is Station Road Portslade and the East Side is Boundary Road Hove. You use Primark after all the publicity surrounding them in the child slave labour they use in the Far East, I am suprised at you!!

It was also proven that the likes of Gap, Next etc also used questionable child labour to manufacture their clothes, but added a bigger profit margin!

The show you allude to, falsely claimed that it was only Primark, and Primark actually got an injunction against the channel blocking it from broadcast, although it was later upheld, and the show was screened.

Although to the western world, the child labour in the poor countries seems cruel, it is common in those nations for children to have to work to supply basic essentials for their families. So, you could argue, that the likes of Primark/Next/Gap are providing a better environment for them to work in, and providing a valuable source of income where there was none

And besides all that, I'm skint! so yeah Primark rocks!

Sorry I didnt make that clear I was referring to the road from the crossings to the seafront as being Station Road where Tesco etc are rather than Aldi. I didnt know that Aldi was in Carlton Terrace but having checked their website they do in fact list the store as being in Carlton Terrace Portslade. So indeed you are correct.

I actually emailed them with the same suggestion for a Primark in Worthing - the comment i got back was they are passing info to director who will be looking into it - lets wait and see

A few weeks ago The Herald published a story about Primark expressing an interest in Worthing, but at that time, unable to secure a suitable location

That was before the demise of Woolies so lets hope eh?!
