Rather them than me. I'm not at all a nervous flier, but some of those landings look ****ing terrifying.

It turns out that Big jet Tv on a windy day is more addictive than many class A drugs. Planes getting within metres of the tarmac then nooooooo. That Lisbon plane got so close.

Just spent 20 mins watching that, thinking just one more, so moreish.

A big factor would be the direction of the runway. If they can't land due to strong cross winds, at one airport, they may be perfectly happy landing at an airport a few miles away, if the runway there is laid out in a different direction, meaning they with a headwind / tailwind rather than a cross wind.

Quite a few seem to be giving up....flight from Beirut had a couple of attempts but is now heading East over Dover. No easy option ATM - landings being aborted as far North as Manchester, EDI-LHR has turned around and gone back home etc
