Yes, but Fergie was lucky to have that golden generation just as the Premiership started. This in turn meant that other clubs became impatient for success and hence the state we are in now where a young Enlish manager like Tony Adams is given ten games or so before he is sacked.

+ he has refs like the one we had last night making sure the results are OK
and so he might have been around for a long while ................he is still a burk

Incredible that. To think that Alan Mullery was in charge of the Albion when he took over at United!

Just shows what a bit of patience can do with a manager. I really can't see how Fergie can get the blame for Tony Adams only getting ten games!!!

That's obviously not what I meant. Utd's success has perpetuated the instant success requirement that has shortened the life expectency of many managers.

I guess it must be they haven't had any changes since being back in the League. Not sure why they aren't counted before they dropped into non-league though.

Seems a bit odd. I don't think Exeter or Hereford were that long out of the league and they must have had plenty of managers beforehand.

Also what about all the managerial changes at Cambridge, Torquay, Wrexham, etc, before they dropped out!

You can't beat tearing something to bits that somebody has only posted because they thought you might be interested!!!!

Also don't forget Ferguson was one result away from the sack. If Man U hadn't got that late winner against Charlton (I think) in the cup he¡d have been on his bike. Lee Sharpe, wasn't it?
