Hopefully we can get them in August and September next time around and then I can take the rest of the season off.

Newly promoted Leeds won twice as many games as us and rock bottom Sheff Utd won only two less than us. Nine wins will probably keep you up but not do a lot more, hence we are always in the bottom six. Talk of top ten is ludicrous. It would mean doubling the number of wins we usually get. We haven't got the firepower to do that. All through the side, we have players who are shot-shy in front of goal, particularly in midfield. We have signed too many players who are not goalscorers.
A new striker coming in will not solve the overall problem. The whole squad has to contribute more goals and we are likely to have to try and replace our best player in midfield.

9 wins a season is pretty damn good (considering our lack of firepower) and 1 win a month seems just enough to keep you up.

I'd be happy with the same next season especially if we can't or struggle to add to the striking department.

I wonder whether stress related illnesses are more prevalent in football supporters of teams that struggle each season?
Maybe even football fans in general when compared to the rest of the population.

Yes I think if you want less stress then support a top 4 team. I'm sure some of their fans are nice people but generally they appear to be soulless ***ts so it seems to be a toss up between glory hunting happiness and respectable misery. Or be a Leicester City fan.

Getting a bit tired of people looking under stones at the bottom of the garden for a rune to 'prove' we are either jolly good, full steam ahead, or shit and Potter OUT!!! and sack the board.

It is what it is and nobody on NSC is in charge. TFFT.

The only reason for reading NSC during the closed season is to watch for new singings. And the music threads, of course. And to mock the afflicted.

We are not strictly shot shy in midfield. In fact Bissouma has had a huge number of shots. 42 shots in 38 games from CDM actually. Unfortunately only 7% of them have been on target.

We need to shoot smarter from midfield, not more often.

It's not enough. End of. Cant keep dicing with bottom 6 and hope that three worse. Read somewhere that this is the first time a side has been 4 seasons in bottom 6 and not been relegated.

More positively, registered 6 wins & 24 points in second half; double that and mid table security beckons. Moreover the 7 defeats were, bar today, all by odd goal. Took lead in 3 (Wolves, Man U, Leics) and shot own foot in 3 others: WBA, Sheff U, Wolves. Defensively strong.

3 targets for next season: finishing; finishing; finishing.
