Who are these strikers hanging around waiting for us to get them in on loan that are ready to bang in 10 goals in 9 games!?

Murray wan't to come. We want him to come. However, Eddie seems less than cooperative.

So for me I am wrong if we miss out on automatic, and also wrong if we get automatic, as we could have done it more easily. As I said earlier, sheesh!

First of all, I don't want anyone to be 'wrong' as we're all striving for the same goal.
It's just half of the camp think we can do it as we are, and the other half want insurance (GM/proven striker).

If we carry on as we are for the 9 games and fail to outscore the opposition, I (and the team) would be devastated and seriously question why TB/CH didn't bring more firepower at this crucial stage in the season.

If we carry on as we are, and gain promotion, I'd happily hold my hands up and say "I wasn't confident that we could do it", and eat some humble pie.

I just think, with the HUGE amount of money at stake here, it'd be severely unwise and foolish to be complacent.
Imagine if we lost Hemed to injury in 3 weeks time, why risk the most important 8 weeks in Albion's history.

It's only hearsay that they are available. There seem to be enough people believing they are just sat waiting for us. I really don't think that is the case. Just rumours...

You do not know until you ask and perhaps the club have asked, nobody on here would know but the cost would be a drop in the ocean compared to the possible rewards.

I have to say I can't argue with your stance, I just don't feel it is the only option, to bring in a new striker and expect them to hit the ground running, in Murray's case someone who has hardly had any game time of late!

First of I'm a he!

It's not a dig at anyone, it's a counter opinion, similar to the ones you so vocally take up - I am still of the opinion that the team we have got, including strikers is good enough for an automatic place.

Unfortunately we will never win this argument over the likes of you, as you have the fall-back position to be able to say, "but we would have won it earlier/by more points" - whereas I can only be wrong, even if we do go up.

So for me I am wrong if we miss out on automatic, and also wrong if we get automatic, as we could have done it more easily. As I said earlier, sheesh!

I am not saying you are wrong, just saying that IMHO we will have a better chance of going up with a top Championship striker signed on loan. If we don't sign one, then I will be more than happy (actually, ecstatic) if we make it anyway. I honestly am focused on the end goal (the Prem), not bragging rights.

Spot on. Just the insurance of another quality striker for 6 weeks is all I am saying, if we make it with what we have got brilliant.
But i would hate Hemed to have got injured and we have no player of his type to bring into the side that can play 90 mins or twice in a week
Peopel keep saying Murray including myself because its well known he wants to come.

The problem is that our current strikers are average to good at best. Murray, for example, has PROVED he can score plenty at this level. No guarantees of course, but I would invest now to maximize our chances of promotion. Just an opinion, of course...

Firstly, there is nothing to say Bournemouth are prepared to let him go. He's been featuring for them, so see no real reason they'd let him go as they try to finish as high as they can.

Secondly, Glenn Murray has only played 3 seasons in the Championship in his career. He got 6 goals in 37 appearances in 11/12, then his outstanding season of 30 goals in 42 appearances in 12/13, then 8 goals in 18 games in 14/15.

I'd be delighted if we were able to sign him, but unlike some I really don't think our chances or promotion are hanging on on getting him in on loan.

His/her post was:

"This... I think some here would like/expect us to win every game 6-0. sheesh"

Tell me, what does that mean? To me, it is a 'dig'; he/she is saying other posters 'expect' us to win 6-0 every game. Nobody expects that, or has said anything that implies they expect that. Rather, some (including me) are saying they want a top striker in on loan to boost our chances of a top 2 finish. Others disagree.

Yes, I know what his post said, thank you. I read it - rather more carefully than you, it seems.

Nowhere did he say anything about what people had said. He stated that he thought some of the people clamouring for a new striker hoped or expected to see us score 6 goals every game. That is a factual statement of what he thought. If you choose to twist it and turn it and add inn bits that aren't there to suit your own personal gripe, fine, but please don't suggest I'm incapable of reading and understanding English.
Anyway, I can see you're trying to start the proverbial argument in a phone box, so I'll just say good luck and cheerio. Best pick a red one - the red keeps the right mood up longer!

As back up to the back up? ...Like he is at Bournemouth?

No. He is better than Tomer and (sad to admit) 'the legend that is' (today's) Bobby. He should partner Wilson as first choice IMHO...

Truce then ???

Yes, truce. I agree with the above post that we ALL want the same thing (the Prem), just differ on the best way to maximize our chances of getting there.

Baldock is one player I wouldn't be dropping at the moment. His talent is being obscured by people's inability to look past just the goals scored. He brings a huge amount to the table. Funnily enough, he would be a superb foil to someone like Murray, same as he's been for Hemed and Wilson.
