Since 2002/3 in the champ, these are the worst (yellows/reds):

qpr 102/2
leicester 96/7
milwall 94/7
rotherham 94/3
miwall 91/13
bradford 91/7

We are currently 70/6 after 31 games

On course for 103.2/8.9 :clap::clap:

We're def not dirty or worthy of a record like that IMO.

The forest fans I went out with on Saturday night all said we are the dirtiest side that have come to the City ground this season.

Before you say it was them being biased, they said Amex was an awesome ground.

The cynical, dirty, cheatin bastards that we are / the refs and officials are all against us.

We are the only team past 70 yellows, only 2 teams have gone past 60 (Yeovil and Bristol Rovers.

Question is, who will be the Brighton player that receives yellow card number 80

Bridcutt against Middlesbrough refs do not like us

How dirty are we?

I've had a quick scan through the match stats for our league games in 2012 and they show that in most matches we actually commit less fouls than our opponents. We generally pick up less bookings in the games too, so how come our disciplinary record is so bad? Is it to do with the way that we defend? In the games that I've seen(three live and a handful on t.v) we seem to back off and back off our opponents until they get about 25 yards from goal then throw ourselves into last ditch blocks and tackles. Does this have any effect on our diciplinary problems? Or is it just lack of personal discipline and petulance like Taricco and Greer in the two games against Southampton. Talking of that first Southampton game, we committed 9 fouls in that game yet had five bookings and a red.

So if we commit less fouls than our opponents how have we managed such a spectacularly bad disciplinary record?

Palace got 105 points last season. Surely we can steal their crown?

I thought Boro's Barry Robson had a decent game on Saturday.

And with 13 yellows and a red this season, he'd fit right in. Shame he's off to Canada.

Maybe we could draw up a target list of bad-boys, and be the new Birmingham from the Ron Saunders era.

Earlier in the season I remember sides were getting some returns out of pushing us around. Right from the word go, Doncaster laid it on pretty strong then bitterly complained that we crocked their best player and ruined the season for them! We only started giving them as good as we were getting.
I believe Championship sides believe this league is a tougher, more physical one and that newly promoted sides are shocked by it. So their tactic is to cut up rough and try unsettling Brighton.
Adam el-Abd is a particularly frustrating player for oppositions because he doesn't get pushed around, isn't shrinking from big bolshy put-it-about players that try to run him - and he runs them by not giving them an inch to work with or a moment's peace to do things their way.

Playing uncompromisingly is one thing, but having to do that while at the same time getting a good passing game going all across the field - sometimes the latter part of our game suffers I think.
