Yes, but read between the lines.

The top seven clubs have achieved this through greater resources. Albion don't have such facility. Thus they develop a model which relies on constant change and churn but is aimed at building an upward trajectory.

In crude paper terms, and from historical data, the ambition is not achievable. This doesn't mean to say that a successful blueprint couldn't find a different way of achieving it. Which merely underlines just how much Albion have achieved and why they are not willing to budge on their approach.
You're saying it's financially unachievable then, when finance is only one aspect of it ?

'3) The Brighton model works as a basis of future proofing in the event of relegation'

Could OP expand a bit more on this 'conclusion' please, bearing in mind the TV money would dry up and attendances would collapse
I'm confused what your angle is here. Are you arguing that the way the club cautiously structures its finances will not help us when we get relegated? Sure "future proofing" does sound like a guarantee but I read it more to mean we won't be in dire straits, saddled with too many duds on big wages like Sunderland or Pompey were, rather than "all will be rosey".

Teams that have a couple of comfortable seasons in the premier league ALWAYS talk about going to the 'next' level. They sack a manager (like Charlton). They start spending money (like Portsmouth). They ditch negative tactics (like Stoke). They sign superstar footballers (like Bolton). It never, ever, works, as your analysis shows. These teams always do it too soon, too fast, without any fallback for when it goes wrong.

TB is doing it right. Find a sensible level and aim to STAY there - don't aim to get to the 'next' level. If you find your level, now and again you'll overshoot it, and enjoy what that brings. The next level is not attainable, don't bother trying.

Trouble is you get comfortable, you get complacent. Like, say, finishing below CPFC who have been quietly going about their business and building an impressive array of talent who are suddenly all on Waistcoat's radar. Soon as you stop yearning for the next level, you're pretty much stuffed in terms of staying at the same level. Other clubs will be hungrier to kick on. Other clubs will want it MORE

Well my point was that every club that yearned for the next level messed up and crashed several levels below. So whilst you could be right, we know the alternative doesn't work for more than a year or two.

Not sure about the palace comparison, 'quietly going about their business and building an impressive array of talent' is pretty much exactly what I'm praising us for doing, and advocating we continue doing. Probably the reason why Palace have stayed in the premier league longer than any other non- big 6 plus Everton team.
