Felt like a million miles from London. We were listening intently to radio 5 on the short journey from Trevose when we found out. Not sure how many other visitors were aware.

I had no school because I completed my GCSEs.

I recall having a late start, I didn't care about waking my early because I was so estatic we just got the Olympics.

I woke up just before 9 as the radio said some form of powercut had swept the underground. Thought nothing of it, had breakfast than went on the computer, the family one because I didn't have my own.

I went online to read stuff about the G8 Summit and Olympics, because I was interested in the political meeting only to come across the chaos the country was experiencing.

I was at work, first heard about the power surge, thought nothing of it, and then the news came through of what it really was. Absolutely panicked when i couldnt get through to dad, but a message came through to my phone after what seemed like forever telling me that he was ok.

Feel so sorry for everyone involved

Way out west
We heard about the power surge as we drove away from our hotel in Manchester, followed by reports of disruption on the underground, news didn't really start to filter through till maybe 10 am. Remembering what you were doing when you heard about 7/7 seems to be having the same importance as when the Princess of Wales or John Lennon died, 9/11 or for my parents generation when Kennedy was assasinated.

Was off sick around that time having test's and scans. Watching the event's 7/7 unfold on Sky News made me realise that what I was going through was nothing compared to the poor sods who got caught in that carnage.
