f*** me , the start date for construction is reliant on all of these being approved. Also , 3 seperate contractors for various projects at the same time

IMO 2010 is very very ambitious

What do the six planning applications relate to exactly? And presumably it's a formality and just a case of going through the motions.

But don't the council approve those? I in no way know how all this stuff works but surely if the council approved Falmer in the first place, they should have no reason to turn down these planning applications (unless of course they design it really really badly, which one would hope they haven't). Plus there is no one to object it (as in the Parish Council) so all's good!

Who do they have to be approved by?

There's no chance of us being there by 2010 anyway. That's no criticism of the albion whatsoever. The problem is that EVERYTHING would have to run perfectly on time in order to get us in there by 2010, and with a project of this size that simply won't happen.

Or do a Donny and move in half way through the season. It doesn't bother me, as long as we get the darn thing built!

I guess the new road by the Stanmer Park entrance along to Sussex University will be the most objected to one. Anything near Stanmer Park will raise the usual "save the one legged squirrel" brigade. The rest are pretty basic stuff, but as with all planning applications they will take a frustrating amount of time.

Mainly alterations to the original plan, for example, one is a change of use for some office space as it's going to be used for Educational use, not Office use. Low key stuff, nothing that should cause any problems. The only issue here is how it takes the council (and all these 6 involve ONLY brighton council) to process these.

We can all do our bit by writing in support of them as will be reported in the matchday programme.

What did you bloody expect? Did you not know there were more applications to come?

most of the Falmer residents are behind the project now so no worries there!

3 contractors is a good idea rather than a single contractor getting overstretched and falling behind.

NOT ambitious at all Martin Perry has all the relevant experience and knowledge required to pull this off and has a very good team behind him!

Shame you couldn't be a bit more positive and get behind the opening date of July 2010 :thud:

Yeah, sounds a bit dodgy if we have to start building in November if it's to be open for 2010.

Still, not to worry, there's always Withdean which is being leased for that season......

Take the new Wembley stadium 1 CONTRACTOR years late millions over budget

New Emirates stadium 4 contractors built a year ahead of schedule meant the old Highbury site could be sold earlier for more in the bank profit and the new stadium come in under budget as well.

Huddersfield 2 contractors under budget 3 months ahead of schedule.

Not spin at all facts speak for themselves

Just don't let a bloody Australian company near the site :lolol:

Yep it is a lot of work but it's not a massive 60,000 seater the 3 contractors will be in seperate areas so won't get in each others way and after seeing the way the Emirates was built i believe it's a good thing

Sorry if I've missed something on here but have only just got home.
There won't be three contractors building the stadium - just one. Brighton University (or was it Falmer High School) will have a contractor running their works which may be running concurrently and B&H Council will have a contractor who'll be doing the road interchange, widening of Village Way, footpath from the car park, footbridge over the railway and new access road to Sussex University.
