Hmm, that's interesting, I just went to the bottom of this page https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/forum.php to the stats section. I wonder which is right? Perhaps it's something to do with when threads are removed (just a guess).

You are probably right there were a load of posts removed in the sort out

Hover your mouse over the post number at the top right hand corner of your post, where the #10 is and the post number will appear at the bottom of the page, ie yours is 6,040,036.

I've just spent twenty minutes going back to find the closest to 6m (yes I'm bored), using this method. The nearest I can find is 6000005, and that was on the 25th of September, at 11.45am.

Probably, yes.

Typically when posts and threads are removed they are just moved to a place inaccessible to most NSCers so they still make up part of the total. Occasionally mods hit the 'permanently delete' button by mistake and that will remove things from the board, and the underlying database, for good. It's probably those.
