The transfer window re-opens then on January 1, when Albion are expected to complete the permanent signing of former loan keeper Wayne Henderson from Aston Villa.

The Seagulls are desperately attempting to thrash out a deal with Villa and McGhee spoke to Henderson on Wednesday night.

"He knows that we are on the case," McGhee said. "We are still talking to Villa and I'm very optimistic."
