Brilliant social experience fillming same people every 7 years from all social backgrounds

Some very sad stories in there.

Watched it since early 70's and it was part of our sociology a level many years ago.

Great series.
I have watched it from the very early days. Starting to mean more as I am coming up to 50.

Well worth a watch.

My mother has the DVD of this, she can remember watching the original series as a teenager. She'll probably feel rather old now...

Heard Tony being interviewed on radio 4 this morning.

I'll be watching this as I've followed it pretty much all along and find it fascinating.

You'll be glad to know that it is still part of the A-level Sociology syllabus. Very much looking forward to the episode on Monday too.

Yeah, looking forward to this on, been following it since 14 up. There was an item about it on breakfast TV or something the other day and they said that it was unlikely anything like that would be made today as tv companies are only interested in stuff that's instantly gratifying.
The BBC are still head and shoulders above everyone else when it comes to a lot of tv/radio ("the voice" excepted)

Do you remember the young Liverpool lad who just wanted to be a coach driver and drive people around on holiday....then he ended up a loner living in a caravan in the highlands with mental health issues?

These guys are a couple of years older than me. Have watched them all since 21 up.

7 up, I was too young and I don't remember 14 up being on.

Over the years, some participants have drifted in and out of the series for various reasons. However, the cabbie, the scouse Lib Dem, the lad who emigrated to Oz and the the East end girls have always been in it, as far as I know.

the boy who went to australia in the end , in the footage of him in the childrens home after his parents split, he looked so profoundly sad and bewildered , it was heartbreaking.
