Are we sure it's not how we use our strikers and not that they are none goal scorers? A player / players, doesn't go from scoring that many goals to what we have now, unless there is a serious lack of knowledge as to how that striker operates within a team. Surely Brighton have looked how Baldock played with Bristol? So why do they insist on not playing him in a similar way? Play o'grady just behind Baldock Please!! See what happens. Baldock plays as a pair always has and always scores in that format!

If you hit a round peg hard enough it may just go in a square hole.

seems to me Chris has settled for a 4-4-1-1
with tex as the 1 behind a striker
with paddy out of favour
COG is the only real other contender for that role
a Sheringham to Tex's Beardsley
But Chris has also brought in Best
it seems that he is ahead of baldock in the striker pecking order
although I have not seen a reason why yet

It seems like we haven't been using strikers properly ever since we got to the Championship. Even with Ulloa it felt like he could have scored a lot more goals if he was given better service.

I'd play 4-4-2

But it doesn't really matter what I think does it. It's not a favoured formation these days is it, to many fear having he midfield flooded.

Not sure how Burnley went up playing it.

Looked like COG had found his feet

Scored a couple and bringing others into play, nice lay offs making goals too

Excellent

Then we drop him

Aren't we going for a 4-2-3-1 shape, at home.
TBH I don't see the problem other than its reliance on the middle player in the 3 being up to scratch.
When those 3 positions are settled, injury free, and fluid we should score more goals.

Even under Hyypia I felt 'when this clicks, we're going to hammer someone'.
I'm yet to think that, but the next 2 games should tell us plenty about Chris' style.
