I am asking all fans of all Football League Clubs to get out and watch their local non-league team instead
Good idea. I'll go and watch Southwick instead.

Well, I would but they're playing away.

Lewes it is then. Least we can do after they have helped the REMF.

Went there a few years ago to watch Worthing play in a cup game. Admittingly a differerent regime now, but unfriendly is an understatement. An A 1 shithole. Chav city.

Sorry that your posting received such a mixed response, I thought that I would post a little more about what is happening a week tomorrow, and also why.

On saturday 4th September all clubs below the Football League are being requested to do something to spread the message that the world of “non league” football is alive and kicking.

With no Premiership or Championship football on the day now is the time to support your local Step 1 club. Crawley and Eastbourne Borough are currently the top positioned clubs in the region, outside of the Football League, so why not set aside your normal habit of just watching the Albion and help another to promote all that is best at their level of football.

All clubs involved will admit season ticket holders from Premiership, Championship and League clubs at a reduced price, thus generating valuable income and extending a welcome to those who normally watch their football elsewhere. If you can't bear to bring yourselves to go to Crawley, why not go to Eastbourne instead or perhaps another Conference club if you live some distance from Brighton...despite some of the derisory comments above, you will be assured a friendly welcome.

Very tempting seeming as though we aren't playing.

Going up or going bust, no in between.

The consensus amongst fans of BSP clubs is that Crawley are making a desperate bid for promotion, history teaches us that this approach may not work, most can only see it going one way...they will probably be playing Arundel and Steyning in about two seasons time.

I might pop down to the Whitehawk game as I live in Bevendean - anyone know if they're at home off the top of your head?

Thanks for the info. I am proud to support other Sussex clubs & watch Eastbourne & Crawley a few times each season.

I think that Crawley have a good chance of promotion next season. Good luck to you!

F*ck me, Steve Foster in positive mode shock. Oh hang on, he's positive about a club other than the one he claims to support.

There is only one drawback of watching these 'fine league players'. One would have to set foot in Crawley.

BOF I thought better of you than this ! The worst parts of Crawley are no worse than the shitiest parts of Brighton ! You can look at the good or bad of any town in any part of the country.

If you keep to the Sussex part you will be ok.
Step too far away & entering into enemy territory of Surrey & them Palarse folk are lurking. Stay away. Keep within your border.

Crawley is in West Sussex not Surrey and you are more likely to find Chelsea fans lurking about not Palace
