To be fair £750k is nothing compared to the financial benefits of being called The Champions of Europe.

A nice little financial cushion while he looks for another job.

i think the point was, he hardly needs a financial incentive, and it shows how Abramovich thinks. throw money at it, that'll make it happen.

indeed .... would I like to have 1% of his money? Hell yes. Do I think he is a repulsive, crass individual? Hell yes.

Yeah not like he'd be trying to win already to get a better job in the summer when they let him go, and more money at that new job in the summer is it

I'm a little confused here, why wouldn't he offer a financial incentive? Of course he'll want to win it regardless but I'm willing to bet anything (except season ticket, never that) that any team from the last 16 upwards would have an incentive plan of some sort in place. AVB probably had a higher bonus written into his contract for winning it, entirely possible this is saving money for Abramovich...

Maybe a bit naive to see it as a sign that Abramovich believes money will win it when it's more an indication of the crazy bonuses that are almost the norm at the highest level, regardless of team.
