Spain have totally controlled pretty much all of their matches and have not looked like losing any of them since the first one. The fact that they have been in 2nd gear and yet still winning games is the sign of an outstanding side.

Italy were crap for large parts of the 2006 WC, as were France throughout much of the 1998 WC. Time and time again this happens in World Cups, yet people still never learn.
