FourFourTwo has done a survey across EFL top 10 players - so as we can’t afford EPL players (in fact have we bought a first team player from another premier league team? Lamptey being an u23). So should we go shopping for any of these - don’t watch that much championship at present so not the best person to comment. I expect Fulham and B’muff won’t sell if promoted so 5 have gone

1. Alexander Mitrovic - Fulham - is he a flat track bully?
2. Ben Brererton Diaz - Blackburn - supposedly we want
3. Harry Wilson - Fulham - felt we should have bought last year
4. Brennan Johnson - Nott Forest
5. Fabio Carvaloa - Fulham - rumoured off to Liverpool
6. Dominic Solanke B’muff
7. Chris willock - QPR
8. John Swift - Reading
9. Philip Billing B’muff - converted from no.6 to no.10
10. Rob Dickie - QPR

Knockhaert was ‘Champ player of the season’ but failed to progress to Prem level for us or other teams. I suspect many on this list are the same. Dunk, Webster, March, etc. wouldn’t appear in these lists but are making careers at the level we need. There are a few on there especially in terms of forwards where I feel they have excelled at their level and achieved their potential. If you need a riskier option who COULD get a lot better it would be Solanke but some of the others have a high floor and low ceiling at our level.

The reason to take Brereton is he fits the TYPE of player we need. But not sure he’ll keep his one season of excelling going if promoted. Might be better where he is for a few. We might work if made him our star man and focal point, but expect he’ll end up on WetSham or Everton’s bench instead if does move.

Lloyd Kelly, Chris Mepham, Tosin adarabioyo as defenders at Bournemouth and lastly at Fulham might be Webster esq signings though if asking but we have enough waiting in the reserves (champ on loan) there I suppose.

They would all be fine additions I think.

With Fulham and Bournemouth likely to go up I think we can pretty much immediatly rule out five players from that list.

Brennan Johnson is probably too good and too expensive, dont think he will make a stop at a bottom PL team but rather go immediatly to West Ham or Tottenham or something like that.

Brererton Diaz, Willock, Swift and Dickie are probably realistic signings.

There are some good players in The Championship. West Brom have an excellent LCB - played vital part in keeping Derby up last season before moving to a bigger club. There is a young Dutchman at the heart of Blackburn's promotion chasing chasing defence. Even Stoke had a good young Norwegian CB, but it looks as if they needed to cash in and sell him to Genoa in La Liga in January :)wink:)
Don't think we can afford any of them, though ..........................

Based on what? The guy is rubbish. He proved that at Bournemouth.

You’re limiting your potent recruitment by focussing on just the English league. There’s a bloke playing in the Belgium top tier, which must be similar to Championship level, who has 25 goals and 9 assists in only 32 games. Got a useful Japanese international winger providing the service for him as well. We should make a bid for them.

Oh come on! You seriously think our recruitment team spend their time looking at players who do nothing except attack and score goals? Is there a single defensive quality between them?

Anyway, they (or their agents) will be looking for higher things (a.k.a. wages) than lower mid-table small budget EPL clubs.

Besides, as we all know, there are fantastic bargains to be had (as low as £10 to £20M in some cases) in the Eredivisie......... cough ............

In a pile of football shirts
Bound to be some unheard of Serbian defender playing for a Bundeslig.2 side who we’ll sign and loan out to a team in Belgium, and the club will deem newsworthy.

Fulham got promoted twice with Mitrovic being great then dropped him straight away, weird they never gave him much of a chance.

Diaz has been great this season, but he has been pretty meh before that
