The New Wembley Stadium holds 90000 seated for both football and rugby. At a cost of £798M that works out at £8867 per seat.

18,500 seats for $115 million, or $6200, a seat for the new MLS soccer-only stadium in Philadelphia (actually Chester) PA. About £4000/seat.

That was a few years ago though innit. The price of ours seems about right in line with the others mentioned in the thread.

If you want a real bargain though, the Millennium Stadium cost a mere £121 million for 74,500 seats.

not that long ago. Emirates was on prime land rather than a muddy field, and its top grade 60k stadium with conference facilities. Wembley likewise, and the site had to be cleared too. I suppose that Philadelphia stadium does indicate the costs of actual construction though.

Equally we've had a lot of problems neither of those had, like public enquiries and so on - I know we all know the ins and outs of it.

Our ground will also be unique and top grade with conference facilities and so on, and because we're talking price per seat I don't think the overall capacity is particularly relevant.

£93,000,000 is the ROUGHLY the same as 170 games at Falmer being a SELL OUT if tickets were £25.

Roughly 25 games at home a year, so it would take almost 7 years of sold out games to recoup the cost of the stadium

Obviously that wont happen that quickly, but it is some kind of small perspective

Yes, if all our income went to paying off the debt. The players, and the other employees at the club might have something to say about that!

That's the brilliant (and slightly crazy) thing about the arrangement in place. If we don't pay it off, Tony Bloom just gets more shares in the club. And if he ever wants to make money on that investment, we'll need to be in the Premiership...

The costings of £4,300 per seat probably means that the cost will be recouped in 30 years time , which will be meaningless as this will coincide with refurbishments.
