You're assuming that when these macro decisions are made that the club give a shit about us as individuals....... I used to assume that, now that I don't it means I get less emotial about these things.

All the while we sell out (whether seats actually have bums in them is less important) they don't really care.
I would imagine there have been some hindsight discussions around the cup as clearly they've priced that too high, I expect the form of the team hasn't helped, but make that £15 adults and it would have sold out IMO.

This is not a dig at our club or board, I expect every EPL club is like this and probably need to be.
And you're assuming that the club have control!!! Your ire has been directed at the wrong organisation!! Villa and Bournemouth have been midweek fixtures since the details were released last June!

Personally wouldn't mind if 100% of games were night games - if we had a city centre stadium with multiple post-match easy escape options. But the Amex is not that stadium. How long before its location and shit post-match transport options start to severely impact the club's bottom line?

As far as I can see the pattern is pretty normal for PL. The midweek games have always been in the calendar. The only difference might be the 8pm Friday and Saturday games which are determined by TV not by the club.

Do these night games actually help us on the pitch?

Hopefully it drums up a better atmosphere!

to be clear, I wasn't complaining that we have night games, or even the amount of night games, just that rather than being spaced out, we have 4 very close together, with one afternoon game in the same time

Personally I have no issue with an evening game, I live less than 2 miles from the stadium and ride a bike there and back, the transport issues don't affect me, but I know they do others, especially mid week, and the 8pm kick offs with a potential 11pm finish means that for I would think quite a number of people. thats 4 games that are quite a pain to get home from,

It would have been nice- but I accept unrealistic ,for whoever schedules these things to have at least looked at it and thought maybe we wont put the cup game, or the other Chelsea game on at such a difficult time given the other fixtures. Its not like us v Chelsea is going to result in large TV audiences .

I imagine that TV schedules for cups work the same as league, which would mean....

The slots in the TV schedule are pre-agreed.

The TV companies take turns choosing each fixture.

When it was ITV's turn (to fill the Saturday night slot), they chose Brighton v Chelsea as the most attractive remaining fixture.

The planners would not have considered Brighton or Chelsea's league schedule, transport issues etc.

I imagine clubs have chance to push back, but only with solid objections.

And there's money on the table of course.. And the global TV exposure which comes with playing at a unique time.

I`m sure the regularity of late/midweek games will affect numbers renewing Season Tickets. I`m on the fence re renewing but probably will renew. I do not want to be at the Amex for 8pm kickoffs.
This was one of a number of reasons why we’ve cancelled.

Hypothetically speaking, what subscription would this be?

And would such a subscriber need a VPN?
Hypothetically speaking I have no idea what it’s called but some hardened villains pay somebody else £40 on Telegram and he sorts it all out. You don’t need a VPN, just a Firestick.
