Two halves of lager in Monaco 1980 = £5 and a pint of lager in Stockholm station in 1982 £4 ( Uk prices 20p per half and 70p respectively)

Cashback not cash off innit. You get the 10% back but only to spend at the albion. It is the illusion of a discount rather than an actual bonified discount.

But unless you're planning on never going to the amex again it's effectively the same thing.

I paid £4 for a pint in The Noble the other day which is a pretty bog standard pub off Portland Road. At the weekend £4.55 for a pint of Korev lager in town. Prices seem to be going up and up.

re Norway - its a bit more price relative to their wages and cost of living.

Was chatting to two chaps in a bar and one was a bog standard sales assitant in Inter Sports and he was on £26k a year !!

A £4 pint costs £4, however you pay for it. Paying by smartcard effectively gets 40p of your NEXT pint, but you will still require at least £4 on your card to purchase it in the first place.

But still, £36 should stretch to 10 pints instead of 9.
Although you would need at least 40p more on there to let you buy the last pint and get your 40p back.

Back to topic though, £4.40 is cheap for Peroni on draught. Worth it though.

Just out of interest. What would you call average and expensive for Peroni on draught?

Once, I paid £5 for a can of Red Stripe in a dingy club in Sheffield that had airport metal detectors outside. We only stayed for one drink.

Was that a club on Spittal Hill? It used to be open until 6am most nights and catered for a fairly 'dodgy clientele'!
