And they come off for poor light and drizzle.

South Africa 60-2 (18 overs), trailing by 439 runs.

A great day for England and Ollie Pope :clap2:

You can see why Wood gets injuries he absolutely hurtles in, hopefully we can pick up another one before close.
He he why would we want Wood to get another injury before close of play.

Yep another wicket......nice one.

I realize that it was stating the obvious but surely that must be our immediate aim.

Yes you are right BG that must certainly be our immediate aim.
Ignore Simster. He gets pre match nerves and gets sarky.

If we lose from here it will be devastating...… if we win, at least we will get a result track at Joburg, otherwise it will be a rice pudding.

England expecting Wood to come good and hope fully if we can get a decent opening stand of near to 100 from Sibley and Crawley we have a chance.

Was the decision to bat first the correct one? Would we not have had more luck bowling first?

Lets hope and pray we can get through to close of play without losing another wicket.

If we can add another 125 or thereabout for the last 6 wickets that could be a reasonable 1st innings total

Hopefully looking at 450+ if these 2 and then Buttler can push on as they have been doing today.

IMHO we should declare at tea and have the last session to bowl at them as I think that if we could get 3 wickets they would be more value able than perhaps another 50 runs. I know that it s not fashionable to enforce a follow on but I would try to make that happen as it gives usa greater chance of victory.

I dont because once you have batted and declared you have played your last card. If they follow on and get a big total it is possible to bat and get a draw so gives us an extra option. I would in 99% case go for the follow on.

If we can remove the nightwatchman and perhaps 2 more before lunch tomorrow we shall be in a very good position.

But really, what does Dom Bess bring to this England side?

I hold my hand up...I was a sceptic...but am now very impressed.

This England team is definitely on the up.

Pope looks a top quality batter and at some stage Joffra, when he gets fit, will get a pitch on which he can destroy a team.

Love the SA band too.
