Bugger - got all excited then.. Just switched over to Sky in the middle of an ad-break and there was more than one advert so I thought we'd got a wicket. We haven't, it was a drinks break

NZ 31/0

Never mind, looks like a good batting track so can't see us losing it.

And in Delhi, Australia are having a rough time of it - 128-5; that's a cheering thought

What an utterly pointless tour. NZ have just laid three pitches that are completely batter-friendly. They've played for a 0-0 series draw. Joke

Was just about to post the same.

Three flat tracks and pray for rain. No wonder they haven't had any fans in the grounds

So how flat is this pitch? Boycott was on the radio earlier questioning winning the toss and inserting. You'd have to say it seems a bit silly to win the toss and then hand your opponents the initiative, doesn't it? England could have been 500 to the good by the end of tomorrow.

Cuts both ways though, doesn't it? By batting second, England could (I accept they probably now won't be) in a much better position to force the result over 3 innings - knock out NZ for 300-odd, bat for 2 days to get 550 and then pressure the Kiwis in the second innings. Bat first and (on a flat pitch) the likelihood is they'd have to bat twice to secure a result.

You can only really judge a pitch after both sides have batted on it.

Another disgusting performance from England against one of the minnows of world cricket. Body language was dreadful from about the first half hour.
