Is the pitch doing anything? A pal just sent me a picture from the ground of lovely blue skies.

In the days (20 years) when Australia won every single series, these were the only games we did seem to win!

Apart from Edgbaston 1997. When McGrath forgot he was bowling in English conditions and got canned. Soon remembered by Lords...

Compton's career at this level is OVER. He can't carry on like this.

Big 2nd innings for him to save his international career.

Glad to see Sri Lanka coming back into a bit, first two Tests were a little dull. I like to see England win but I want a match made of it (especially as I only tend to get to listen to days three and four :) )

Feel sorry for Compo. If they'd stick with him a bit longer the first time then he may well have come good. Has looked under intense pressure to perform since they brought him back in and clearly couldn't cope with it. Bit of a waste imo.

Tempting to Bring Bell back in.... is he scoring runs in county cricket.. ?

Hit 60 off 47 in the one day game against Notts yesterday. Not sure about the longer game though.

I liked this tweet on the BBC

Time saving Idea: reduce all England test matches to 3 days, commencing automatically at 80/4 with Cook and Bairstow opening .

Whilst I appreciate the humour, that's incredibly harsh on Sir Joe Root.
