Someone (who I just happened to get absolutely legless with on Friday night culminating with him breakdancing in my living room) commented on Friday that only 7 of the 50 front page threads were about the Albion.
There's now 35 and I really can't face opening any of them. It's just too depressing and I'm depressed enough after yesterday.
Sure, we played badly but to say that we DON'T want to win is just ridiculous. This is the player's livelihoods and it really is a performance-related career in the most public of ways. They DO care, Mickey cares, Dick cares and you can bet your bottom dollar that they are hurting as much as we are. There never seems to be a middle ground with NSC. When we win we're going to get promoted. When we lose, the most nasty, hateful and spiteful comments get bandied around.
All clubs go through rough patches. It happens to Arsenal, to Palace, to England, to every club.
I'm not excusing that performance. Something is seriously wrong somewhere. We know they can play better than that so please get behind the team and show them in a positive way that we want them to win and do it in style.
And then take a long deep breath, step away from your computers and have a lovely non-football related Sunday.
Up the Albion.
