According to Sky Sports News, this is the combined total spent by the 20 Premier League clubs in this transfer window to date, with almost 1/3 of that accounted for by Manchester City.

I know it's been said, and rightly so, that there is too much money being lobbed about in football (and of course it isn't just confined to the Premier League), but to see it actually calculated and displayed like that just shows how crazy the situation has become IMO.

The problem is it costs money to buy and keep the best players in the world and this is the price the clubs pay.

I think most fans would be happier that the moneys being spent on players rather than the chairman pocketing the profits.
