Not a bad turn out. Forster looks very promising, some nice touches.

Biggest queue I've ever seen at the refreshments stand at half time, gave up after 15 minutes and was still standing by the hospitality room.

Robinson looks good on the right and Elder looks stronger and leaner.

Should have got a draw.

I bet the club lost money tonight.I reckon they needed at least 4500 to break even due to low ticket prices

yeah but it's only Fulham and it's the first home friendly. People are on holiday (etc), can't be arsed, in the pub, got no money etc etc etc.

Reading will be a bit bigger

Premiership opposition or not, it's still a preseason friendly, not something that is overly high on a lot of people's priorities. Had this been competitive, in the FA Cup or something, it woul have been packed.

I wasn't that impressed with Elder, but he didn't get much of a game.

My man of the match was either Robinson, Whing or Lynch. Robinson was like a man possessed, gong in for tackles at almost every opportunity.

The second goal could have been avoided, but all in all a decent performance. I think the Fulham players were a bit nervous of Fraser  He was flying in with tackles!

Premiership opposition or not?

So can you explain why we got 10000 against Spurs a few years back at the Goldstone? And it was a midweek evening friendly

Fulham are still Third Division fare, in my eyes.

What do you mean they're in the Premiership now? Pah.

On tonight's showing they're not going to be there for long...

Thought Robinson looked sharp (but he often does pre-season), Whing and Lynch were pretty solid, and Forster certainly looks a decent acquisition with some good touches and an eye for goal. Still need a creative midfielder and IMO another forward to play alongside Forster, as I'm still not convinced that Savage, Elder, or Revell will be prolific enough.

Fulham and Reading are only small clubs in my eyes, Leyton Orient or Eastbourne Borough would have been better teams to play. Fulham are only there because of Al Fads millions, I am sure if he brought the Albion there is a chance we would have Falmer and be in the Premiership, and I'm serious.

Cos you could just turn up on the night at the last minute with a bunch of mates and stand where the hell you wanted to.

Football is shit nowadays. You have to book it like a frigging dental appointment.

That, I think, is the perfect summary of why I don't bother going anymore. And why I probably won't bother going in the future. I appreciate that all-seater stadiums and advance ticketing etc has most likely brought in a whole new section of supporters, but it leaves me cold , and on the few occasions I do go, wishing I had simply stayed at home.

Simple, it was touted as Klinsman's Tottenham debut...although it turned out not to be. Interest was enormous as this was in the days when foreign superstars were something of a rarity. I remember being well pissed off when he didn't play but it was a good game, the highlight of which was a young Sol Campbell having our very own superstar Kurt Nogan in his pocket all game. He was also about twice as fast which was a big suprise because I thought Nogan was pretty speedy himself.

And if memory serves, Spurs had signed Klinsmann a couple of days before. I think a lot of people thought he might be making an appearance. :dunce:
