Sometimes find a strong urge to smack a McBurger out of obese peoples mouths. I love the excuses they come up with..genes, big bones, etc etc.. ... i heard some afro american girl on jerry springer..it was late..there was nothing else..!!....saying to some woman, listen...no fat people walked out of Auschwitz. Stop eating so much! ......Sound advice.

Sorry but no sympathy for the bloke.

And whilst we're on the subject - fat people are spoiling the summer. In years gone by summer was the time for the pretty young (and not so young) English roses to appear on the scene in skimpy short skirts and tops.

Now you can hardly go anywhere without seeing fat birds letting it all hang out in the most disgusting fashion. Stay indoors ladies until the winter and don't come out until you've lost a few stone

I worked with someone once who had to pay for two seats if flying anywhere. There was a huge row because our company would only cover the cost of one ticket, so if he had to go somewhere on business, he was expected to pay the other fare himself. I seem to remember that he stopped going on trips in the end.

So he should pay for 2 seats .... its not nice sitting next to them as they spread out over the adjoining seat ..... coming back from America a lard was moved from a wing seat because they would not have been able to open the door in an emergency ... me and the wife had a little giggle to ourselves because they were moaning about needing extra room ...FFS

If I wasn't in London, where all the birds look f***ing mint, I'd be tempted to agree with you.

There really is no excuse for these hideous fatties ruining the view, quite frankly.

Wont be long till we are weighed at check in!

That seems like a fair approach, give everyone a weight limit for themselves and their bags, anything over they pay excess baggage. Surely it must cost more in fuel to propel a plane that is fully laden rather than one that is lighter or only half full, only right that people pay proportionally in relation to how much fuel they have used up.

The hard thing would be decide what the weight limit should be, I weigh 75Kg (just under 12 stone), on a recent trip my rucsac weighed in at something like 12Kg and that was for more than a month travelling...maybe if you set it at 100Kg that would be a fair amount. This might also encourage people who seem to take the kitchen sink for a week in Benidorm to cut down on the crap they take with them, the plane would use less fuel, tickets cost less and everyone is a winner.

The trouble with that approach is that in a family of four, 100kg is not very much. I reckon Mrs G, the two kids and I would weigh about 200kg between us, leaving us with a very hefty 200kg allowance, which means we could take the kitchen sink. If we weren't allowed to take it as a family, then we'd just allocate any baggage on the kids' tickets - there'd be plenty of slack for some heavy bags there.

Your plan would only work with individuals - and with people who are over 100kg

At 32 stone he doesnt need to worry about getting kicked off the flight, he will be seeing her again a lot sooner than he thinks.

Been there, done that. Just needs to be a small enough plane that they have to balance it by putting people in specific seats.

Scheduled Aer Arann flight in a Britten Norman Islander, not an experience I want to repeat if I can avoid it, leaky rustbucket.
