It’s seriously not as straightforward as that, in itself if’s expensive, it’s also time consuming (look at the amount of time some Yanks spend on death row) it’s barbaric and history has taught us the amount of miscarriages of justice prove that it’s simply plain wrong (and bear in mind for many felons it wouldn’t be punishment, it would be the easy option)
Which is why I don't support it, as I said sometimes you think maybe.

I'm not a supporter of capital punishment but sometimes, just sometimes you ask why a person should be able to live out their life, costing the tax payers tens of thousands of pounds.
It’s worth noting this, which John Hunt wrote about the murderer.

“you are consigned to a fate far greater than death”

*ucking vile coward *unt. I he hope he *ucking rots inside. If you have daughters remember there are lots of men out there like him, blaming women for all their problems. Being a psychopath incel is not a women’s fault you *ucking freaks. Men with fragile egos who can’t take being rejected, fulled by the social media and Andrew Tate telling them their failures are the fault of women, so they can justify behaving like a *unt.

This *unt has ruined so many lives, I can’t imagine what John Hunt is going through poor fella.

Rest in peace Louise, Hannah and Carol

He is, most definitely, worthy of death.

But, for me, it's right that we don't do such a thing. Capital punishment is state sponsored murder and it can be very murky as history has shown.

But with regard to tax payer costs, it is believed that to execute someone costs more than keeping them in prison for life. There is, rightly, an elongated appeals process that costs millions of pounds in legal fees.

At some stage he will die like us all. But until then he can stay incarcerated and reflect on his crimes.

God knows how John Hunt managed to deliver such a strong statement. He is an absolute titan.

Those who choose not to attend for their sentencing should be forced to listen to a recording of the impact statements in their cell on loop for a week

I hope Kyle the coward enjoyed his last taste of free will, to choose not to attend. As he won't be afforded any free will in future, including when he uses the toilet

Reading John Hunt's shattering victim statement, it just reinforces why defendents should be compelled to attend their hearings. There should be no hiding place.

Hopefully a lifetime of prison ‘accidents’ ahead for him.

Deserved nothing less than a whole life order.

After reading John Hunt's victim statement, I just I can't put into words how much I admire the man and can't even begin I think how much torment he must have gone through sitting in the funeral room, and the whole process.

My thoughts are with you and your family John Hunt

Incredible impact statement, total respect for him.
His statement should be piped into this cowards cell for an hour at night and an hour in the morning so it’s in his head for the rest of his miserable life. No escape.

The coward tried to kill himself and didn’t manage it.

A heartbreaking statement from John Hunt but showing a strength of character the killer would never have. I hope he finds peace.

Exactly, full life sentence, paralysed in a wheelchair. Nearer justice than his final attempt at cowardice.

I suspect they would need to be physically gagged, however.
Can you imagine the statement being read while this oaf sits in his wheelchair, laughing and jeering?

Just far enough away from LDC

Gagged, hands restrained and tied down. I really don't care. He has foregone his 'human rights' on this matter
