I deal with the general public on a daily basis - including Muslims. They are not brainwashed, they just have faith... absolutely nothing is wrong with that, in fact in many ways it is admirable.

You spent all that time typing that post, attaching videos to answer something that wasn't said. Nobody said Muslims were brainwashed.
The extremists are brainwashed. Nobody in their right mind, would blow themselves up whilst still teenagers, when they've got all their lives ahead of them unless they were brainwashed.

We do need to do more to help immigrants integrate, not just muslims. At the moment though i would focus on integrating muslims. That said the leaders in that community need to do more, to be more visible, more vocal. It cannot be right to blame others all the time, its a problem to solve together.

They are welcome to join me tomorrow for a Saturday morning fry up, followed by a pre match double brace up the pub whilst working out the weekend punts and watching the early afternoon racing.

They can then come to the football, pre match train gins from M&S are mandatory, and a good old spit and swear whilst we lose 0-2. Then afterwards we can head back to Brighton for the evening with the intention of securing double figures with some shameless flirting with the lovelies behind the jumps.

If there is still room a final few gins in a late night establishment (casino possible) and then a final squaring of the circle with a jaunt down to the all night cafe.

What kind of man (muslim or otherwise) wouldn't want to integrate into our culture with a day like that...........over to you Abdul.

Listening to the news it's suggested that these girls haven't just suddenly decided they'd like to try life in Syria, they've been individually groomed.

If that is the case, what have they been groomed for - are members of IS going to all this effort just to increase their population, or do they have other plans for these girls?

If they had been groomed by a Tory cabinet minister or a fading pop star to be a sex toy I think everyone on here would have great sympathy for them and their families.

They have been brainwashed and have very little idea what they are letting themselves in for.

Women are treated like dogs by these people.

If they make to Syria, they will soon be extremely frightened and terribly abused and want to come home.

And they probably won't be allowed.

I hope they are intercepted before they make it over the border.

Firstly they are not comparable, the barbarism of Islam dwarfs other religions.

Secondly Islam is by their own definition timeless, unchanging. wereas Christianitys excesses were put to rest a long time ago.

From what I have read from respected historians and theists it is my understanding that throughout history Islam and Christianity have both been involved a great many i heinous and barbaric acts. I am sure there will be historians and theists that argue that one is worse the the other. But to claim that throughout history one 'dwarfs' the other and that they are 'not comparable' is way outside my understanding of the subject.

I don't claim to be an expert in such things (unlike yourself) so I await your wisdom .

The problem with much of Islam is that there seems to be a shorter pathway to extremism, if you have a been labelled by naive British politicians that you are moderate going to pray 5 times a day, structurally modifying your lifestyle and prioritising Islam above anything else then there must only be one or two steps beyond this before becoming quite extreme.

I dont see other religions seemingly start with such a set of conditions, or at least very few choose to follow them so vigorously, so being Christian is generally quite lax in its choices and in its penalties, the journey for those to something extreme seems a far longer and therefore unlikely journe
Its the acceptance of 'moderate' Islam without challenge which has created an environment where radicalisation is just a few sermons away.

I,m not sure if they can manage all of the above though as they need to go on hands and knees 5 times a day to pray to an imaginary God and take their brainwashing updates from their Imams.

Then suddenly someone with the good guys runs towards the baddies saying things like "dont shoot I am your friend, i helped you!!". Its a false analogy. You are comparing sympathies between 2 types of groomed girl where their behaviour is totally different. The 3 girls can be seen as both betraying the country that let their parents in and a threat to it. These actions do not illict sympathy hence this a false analogy, straw man argument.

IS is the size of the uK containing over 8 million people, its estimated over 30,000 foreign fighters are in the IS. Those are the ones who travelled.

What do you think is going to happen if, or when, IS collapses busting the hopes and aspirations of their many more sympathisers?
