What an utter bullshit article with a misleading title from 'The Graph' there. ComRes survey a few hundred, maybe a few thousand Muslims tops and off the back of that they claim 'A Quarter of British Muslims...' Seriously???

Saying how many took part would certainly have put everything into context, but if a few thousand had been involved, then that might give us a clue. How could you say that their views do not reflect those of the muslim community as a whole? Or do you simply not want to believe the conclusion they came to. It may be quite valid.

11% agree with attacks against the West, that is around 250 000 UK Muslims if the poll is correct

Seeing as there was no question about 'attacks against the West' I'm not sure where you get your figures from ???

I find it quite heartening that whilst 78% of British Muslims find cartoons deeply offensive 'only' 15% agree that those who do deserve to be attacked. That figure has to be tempered by the answer that 93% say British Laws should always be obeyed.

More disturbing is that whilst 95% feel loyal to Britain nearly 50% don't feel that loyalty is reciprocated in so far as 51% think Britain is becoming more intolerant of Muslims and 49% thinks there is a general prejudice against Islam making it difficult to be a Muslim in the UK.

" 11% feel sympathy for people who want to fight against western interests " ok, sympathy granted

In regard to the 15% who think those depicting Mohammed should be attacked and 93% figure for those who think they should obey British law, I do not find it comforting as presumably the percentage who think it's okay for the attacks but who want to obey the law, will remain quiet if they are suspicious about such an event or actually know something which will give the police leads.

It may be disturbing, I agree, that so many Muslims now feel intolerance growing. I wonder how on earth that could be any different?

Maybe we need to sort out our own country before we try to understand why people are starting to leave, especially kids.

Yes, we do need to sort out our own country, starting at the top it seems.
"Baroness Warsi, the first Muslim woman to sit in Cabinet, handed official posts to people linked to Islamist groups, including a man involved in an “unpleasant and bullying” campaign to win planning permission for the controversial London “megamosque” proposed by a fundamentalist Islamic sect. He sits – alongside other radicals or former radicals and their allies – on a “cross-Government working group on anti-Muslim hatred” set up by Lady Warsi and Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister.

Some members of the group are using their seats at the table to urge that Whitehall work with Islamist and extremist-linked bodies, including one described by the Prime Minister as a “political front for the Muslim Brotherhood”. Some are also pressing to lift bans on foreign hate preachers from entering Britain, including Zakir Naik, who has stated that “every Muslim should be a terrorist”.

Fiyaz Mughal, a former member of the working group, told The Telegraph that he had resigned in protest at its activities. “I was deeply concerned about the kinds of groups some of the members had connections with, and some of the groups they were recommending be brought into government,” he said. “It seemed to me to be a form of entryism, by people with no track record in delivering projects.” Mr Mughal is head of Tell Mama, the national organisation for monitoring anti-Muslim attacks."

And thus the enemy within gets stronger and deeper into the establishment..while the population at large walk blindly on like lambs to the slaughter
and our leaders...do nothing and are complicit in the undermining and taking over of our establishments.

It's not often that I am forced by the facts into a volte face but here goes.

I learnt today that these girls had been spoken to in the last few weeks by the security services who had obviously been alerted by something they were up to on social media and had been assessed as "low risk" in terms of radicalisation. The facts that they were on the radar MUST surely mean that their parents were aware that something was amiss as I can't imagine no one from MI5 mentioned this interest to them given the fact of their tender years.

This indicates a degree of cunning and deceit that I hadn't factored in and also makes me think that something in the girls family life was not entirely as innocent as we were led to believe. Add to that that ISIS are operating a human traffic Underground Railroad through Turkey which has been intercepted successfully by both the Dutch and Austrian governments who have intercepted teenage girls from their countries en route to Syria and sent them home with a flea in their ears in recent weeks If the British secret service was aware that these girls were vulnerable why were they NOT surveilled? Why did they not inform the Turkish security services until 3 days after the girls vanished? Wtf?

Add to that the latest wheeze from ISIS in Libya to send a flotilla of 700,000 refugees currently camped on the beaches of Northern Libya to Europe to destabilise European governments who would face riots if an exodus of such epic scale were to take place and it looks like these girls might have picked the right side in this fight and its us who are the idiots.

they were and they did. its not an offence to leave the country and Turkey apparently dropped the communication somewhere but their minister said they never got told. i dont know about Dutch and Austrian interceptions, but i read there have been a dozen or so girls leave from the UK, oddly unreported, and several were stopped and returned. the Turkish border seems woefully under-protected, not least for protecting traffic coming the otherway.

This country has lost the plot. It started with Labour and has continued under the Tories, and it will continue after the general election. It's amazing what goes on isn't it. It's obvious what happens eventually, instead of making things better for the whole community regardless of religion, they change things to suit their own religion and nobody else. Then you get this story where a UKIP meeting is suddenly cancelled out of the blue. Going to be a lot more of this crap going on before the general election.

Here's a story about grooming that seems to have slipped under the media's editorial radar, in the words of the Police an investigation larger than Rotherham or Rochdale.

http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/new...ifax-25-men-charged-police-reaction-1-7096362

Still, it's not all bad there is a lot more stuff about Jimmy Saville today, plus the ongoing national tragedy that involves 3 British girls making their way to Syria.............I can barely sleep these days, I do hope they are safe.

As i stated ages ago, 54 cases are being investigated for which about 10 have come out.

" 11% feel sympathy for people who want to fight against western interests " ok, sympathy granted

And to the question asked, "If someone from the Muslim community was planning an act of violence I would report them to the police", 94% replied in the affirmative. That cuts by half, at least, your figure of 11% who would "agree" with attacks on Western interests.

I wonder what the response to a similar question posed to the general population would be. ???

When 19% of Muslim females reply that they "do not feel safe in Britain" due to their religion I'm surprised that the numbers feeling a level of sympathy for attacks on Western interests isn't higher.

One response from that same poll that might surprise some on this thread was to the question, "I would rather socialise with Muslims than non-Muslims" - just 13% agreed with that statement and in the 18-34 age group that fell to 11%.

I suppose this shows that you can do whatever you want with stats -you have now used them several times to "demonstrate" that the muslim community is far less of a threat than is perhaps widely thought. The question in the first para is vague -violence against whom? Would they report it to the Police if it was against unbelievers, as opposed to fellow muslims? It just seems strange that the acts of violence perpetrated or in the planning stages by muslim extremists just happen to be concealed by the 6% ! It doesn't necessarily "cut by half" etc, as you claim, but you could be right. As I said, it is vague and the thinking behind the responses is open to any interpretation you want.

Perfectly true and done deliberately :)

Compare the way I have used them to how much of the media have - a few of the headlines.

[h=1]27 percent of British Muslims sympathize with Charlie Hebdo attackers - Telegraph
[/h][h=1]A quarter of British Muslims have sympathy for motives behind Charlie Hebdo attack - Mail
[/h][h=1]More than a quarter of British Muslims have 'some sympathy' for Charlie Hebdo killers - Express
