Australian Leader Outlines Tough New Anti-Terrorism Measures.
Abbott decried the spread of Islamic extremism in Syria and Iraq as a “new dark age”
Australians who hold dual nationality and flout antiterrorism laws will have their citizenship suspended or revoked, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced Monday during an address on national security.

Even those born in Australia could have citizenship privileges taken away if they are involved in terrorism, reports the BBC.

I'm all for this. Their history and service to the British Army speaks for itself, proud like the Gurkha's.

British Army examines plans to create a Sikh regiment
Armed Forces minister Mark Francois says unit would inherit many of the 'proud traditions of Sikh regiments' from the Army's past.

The Gurkha' s would have given IS something to think about. I knew an old fella who fought in Burma alongside them, and they were a bit partial to cutting the heads off the enemy themselves.

I don't understand how it will be lawfully feasible for the British Army to practice religious discrimination by raising a Sikh only regiment. ???

Yep, my Dad fought alongside them in Malaya, he said one Gurkha was worth 10 Americans. He had a lot of respect for them. The Sikhs were good as well and were picked to defend the Generals etc.

Blimey, best not start posting things like this with my perceived online persona eh.

Maybe a look at their history in the British Army, and their regiment etc.....and the history. Here you go.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh_Regiment

By 1914 Sikh Regiments were deployed as part of the British Indian Army for operations in World War I. The Regiment served in all theatres of operations and earned 28 battle honours.

In both the World Wars 83,005 turban-wearing Sikh soldiers were killed and 109,045 were wounded while fighting across 3 continents.[2]

In the years to 1945, 14 Victoria Crosses were awarded to the Sikhs, a per capita record given the size of the Sikh Regiments.[3] In 2002, the names of all Sikh VC and George Cross winners were inscribed on the pavilion monument of the Memorial Gates on Constitution Hill next to Buckingham Palace, London.

I reckon the British Sikhs have done their bit...don't you?

It is rare for me to get involved in threads such as this but think that this from the Independent yesterday makes interesting reading, picked up from a Danny Baker retweet.

very good piece
IMHO the government should shut down twitter and facebook while they still allow this sort of rubbish on their sites.
the writter of the article has the right idea to never allow these girls back into our country.

Hard to disagree with any of this. I too find it very hard to believe, though I suppose it is possible, that the families had absolutely no inkling that their daughters had been radicalised - there would surely have been some sign of changed behaviour over time, even allowing for teenagers wanting to keep their secrets from parents. Would those of you reading this who have brought up children/teenagers really not have noticed anything at all?
Yes they are teenagers and as gullible and impressionable as we all were at that time, but the fact is that they are, as we are told, highly intelligent, and are fully aware of what they are getting into. We can only assume they thoroughly approve of the cruelty to non-believers that we are witnessing, and there is thus no place from them back in Britain. Very sad, given their youth, but they are not forced into going there.

Yep.

Two men who raped a vulnerable Polish tourist in a London park just hours after she had arrived in the UK have each been jailed for 14 years.

Mojtaba Changi, 33, of Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow, and Saeed Fatemi, 20, of Blackthorn Court, Hall Road, Leyton, were sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday.

Who are Boko Haram?

A suicide bomb attack has killed at least 13 people in Potiskum, north-eastern Nigeria, reports say.

An employee at Dan-Borno bus station told BBC Hausa that the bomber waited until the 18-seat bus was full before getting on board. Another local resident said he had seen 13 bodies.

He said the bus was completely destroyed by fire and other vehicles nearby were affected.

Nigeria has faced a wave of attacks from the Islamist group Boko Haram.

Correspondents say this bombing is reminiscent of previous attacks by the group, although as yet no one has taken responsibility.

Two witnesses have told Reuters that the bomber was female.

On Sunday, a young girl with explosives strapped to her killed five people and wounded dozens at a security checkpoint outside a market.

Yes, I did see that reported too.

Usually they have to agree to convert to Islam or have their heads chopped off.

if its illegal to raise a sikh only regiment then perhaps discrimination laws arent as sensible as they should be. who is being assisted by a law that would prevent this?

Their parents should be detained. Similar to Germans in the UK being held in detainment camps during WW2.

The terrorist girls should be refused entry to the UK.

Our police should not be abroad looking for them.

Anyone found to be affiliated with IS should be imprisoned ( preferably put to death but obvs not in the UK).

They are as good as dead now even if they did convert to Islam as IS will still chop their heads off. They are raising the anti with each new porn murder video, 21 last time, 90 next time with some dramatic music and obviously nonsense in the background re Islam. I would not affiliate them to Islam, IS is just a death cult. They do it because they like killing other human beings, no other reason
