In the 'good old days' once teams got down beyond no 8 it took no time usually to mop up the tail but that doesnt happen so much now as probably more emphasis is placed on getting the No 9 10 and 11 to be able to bat as opposed to somebody like Brian Statham. He just about knew how to hold a bat and take a guard and this usually took longer than his innings.

Kiwi's have bowled beautifully this morning. Everything in or around off-stump. Hope our seamers are taking note. Jimmy and Broad should be chomping at the bit to have a bowl in these conditions.
