Just Spurs trying to push things to a conclusion. They've clear already been out spending the money they expect to get for Bale and now need the cash to cover their spending spree. Not to say there might not be another bid, but leaking it out is clearly a negotiating tactic.

I'm highly doubtful that Spurs would want to sell to Man U or another Premiership side, even if there was a bid.
