Windies were 10/1 to win, now 8/11.

Fair dues to Root for making this one of the most exciting days in Test history; sometimes Corinthian spirit is more important than the professional obsession with winning.

At the same time it's a joy to watch the world class batting of Brathwaite and Hope in this test. The last time we saw such a pairing was Hayden and Langer.

:) days that be an England cricket fan.

Tea, Day Five

WI 199-3 (61 overs), Hope 78* Chase 2*

7 wickets or 123 runs from 35 overs

All four results are possible going into the final session. What a classic Test Match :clap2:

......and £10 (I tink that's what they said last night) a pop PotG for the whole final day! Wow! How's that for value? (PL please take note!)

Should be able to knock 123 off but 2 quick wickets will change it all.

I don't blame Root in the least, you should be able to defend 320 plus in the 4th innings, especially against the West Indies.

I'd like the West Indies to do this. It would be good for the broader game. Anything to re-interest folk in Test cricket.

Review for LBW... Broad on Hope... impact outside leg(!) and missing by a foot :nono:

Wasted.

223-3... only 99 more required from 26.3 overs

Windies will see out Broad and Anderson, then look to hit out. If England don't take a wicket soon, the Windies will win with an over or two to spare.

All going to come down to the new ball.

(sadly Anderson is going to be cooked when we get hold of it)

Into the last hour of this historic and gripping Test Match... 15 overs to go.. WI need 47 to win... England need an unlikely 6 wickets with the new ball.

Shai Hope 100* (175 balls, 13 fours)

Playing in just his 12th Test Match, he is now the FIRST man EVER to make A CENTURY in EACH INNINGS of ANY First Class game at Headingly

Think of all those famous Yorkshiremen (and Englishmen too) to play there in the past 127 years and he is the first!
