I can't stand bold primary colours on Excel spreadsheets. Use one of the more subtle themes, for heaven's sake. Much easier on the eye.

That said, I didn't take much notice of this I'm afraid. I think in the season that Man City won the Champions League and Premier League, they played a total of 22 players. And I wonder how many players were used by Man Utd and Liverpool etc back in the 90s, 80s, when they were winning everything in sight? Barely more than 15 or 16, I'd guess. I know the game has changed and is much faster now but still. I don't think we should be moaning because we have 'only' 29 or 30 players available, especially in a non-Europe season.

Good idea with the sheets if you feel massively let down by Tony.

This was always going to be a 'finding our feet' season, but some people convinced themselves that it was bound to end in Europe and seem unable to deal with their perceived disappointment. I'm not sure what we can do to help them.

p.s. it might STILL end in Europe..
I do love the revisionism we’re seeing.

So after all the in's (*?) and out's in January our squad is left to play out the rest of the season with just 29 players who have played some part of our first XI fixtures so far (only 25 have stepped onto the pitch for at least some game time), (*Cashin I suppose could be added to this to make it 30 if he's deemed ready for first team action at some point)!! Included in this are 4 goalkeepers and 3 definite (Igor, Ferdi and Milner), possibly 4 (? Wieffer) who are out for the final 15 (at least) matches. So that makes 23, 21 if you discount Knight and Slater who have one unused sub appearance.

21!!!

We let a young striker go out on loan and replace him with a German 2nd Div player for £22m that we then loan back to his Club for the rest of the season in a position that we don't have any real cover for currentlyo_O. We SELL a central defender, (not loan and see if he comes good while at Norwich and be a prospect for next season or sell on in the Summer if deemed the right thing to do then), in a position that we don't have any real cover for currentlyo_O. Great work by the Club to leave us in an even worse position than we started the month in and if the back end of last season is anything to go by, the injuries will only get worse and youngsters from who knows where will be needed to fill the gaps.
I'll be panned and slated for this view but after 49 years of watching my beloved Brighton I feel massively let down by Tony's and the Board's approach to recent recruitment of both Manager and players that are plainly not ready/or will be ready at some point for Prem Lge football. I hope and prey they will come good, the Manager I'm not so sure will, and sadly has all the hallmarks of Hyypia.v2.
Our famed approach at plucking up and coming young superstar talent from South America has gone to shit with Enciso, Buonanotte, Barco and some extent Sarmiento all being deemed not good enough for us now and shipped out. So who's to blame for their demise as they obviously haven't been coached well enough to take them to the levels that were expected of them when they arrived? Ferguson could be added to that list but his injuries haven't helped him so maybe a spell at West Ham will be perfect for him, only then to be sold probably! It's sad to say but profit over improvement seems to be the way we are going currently and a return to European Competition seems a long way off currently. Yes we are 10th and upto 2 weeks ago only Liverpool and Arsenal had lost fewer games than us so I should be delighted and happy to see us firmly planting our flag in the Premier League battleground and see us as a regular combatant now, which I absolutely am, but something doesn't seem the same currently and it's gone/going in the wrong direction. I hate being a Negative Nelly and as I expect, most replies will point to, don't have a lot of posts and don't generally vent my spleen and therefore probably aren't classed as an Uber fan who has a right to say how I feel. As the table above shows, I'm one for generally posting useless and boring stats that I collate, so maybe I should go back to doing just that. Sorry rant over. I'm off to wring out my sheets and put them on a boil wash in the washing machine.;)
I'm absolutely furious at your choice of font here.

The biggest problem at the moment is where supporters are assuming that we should be in the European mix every season. Of course, that would be splendid, but in a league with at least eight clubs having way more financial clout than us that will not always be possible.

As for the ins and outs, I wouldn't comment as the club have a far bigger insight than I do. As for Fab, well it's best to wait till the end of the season to make an assessment. But some seem to speak as if not making Europe is a failure. It isn't..

In the second half of last season we were 17th in the form table. In the first half of this, 10th. So I don't see a decline at present. As I say, the end of the season will be the barometer, not a mad away day in Nottingham. Only two weeks ago Albion played United off the park. Not such a big achievement these days, but an away win. Followed up by another.

Sometimes I wonder that the 6th place finish is causing more problems that it is joy now.
Careful.
You'll be accused of toadying in a minute.
We should of appointed a proven manager, such as Moyes, not a boy.
Everything is rotten at the club - from the bottom (of the front page of NSC) up.

This squad size/depth is more than enough to compete in the 2nd half of the season (could well only be 15 games) and certainly pretty normal for a PL club. If it was much bigger than this it would be hard to manage and you'd have 5 or 6 players each week not even making the bench even with a deep injury list.
PS: no idea if Milner actually will play again this season but he's not been formally ruled out. Nor has Ferdi actually but that seems unlikely given the op.

Verbruggen, Rushworth, Steele
Lamptey, Veltman, Estupinan
Dunk, JPVH, Webster, Cashin
Gomez, O Riley, Wieffer, Ayari, Baleba, Hinshelwood
Minteh, Gruda, March, Mitoma
Georginio, Welbeck , Pedro

Injuries: Igor, Ferdi, Milner

And i'd expect if needed from u21s then likes of Joe Knight, Josh Duffus , Charlie Penman and perhaps even Simmonds/Howell might make the bench before end of season.

Webster has a new role now Ferguson has moved on.
Zamora has been getting him up to speed.

I agree totally.. this hasn't just sprung up.. this has been going on for over 2 months and FH is the problem!

The last 2 transfer windows and loanings out are just stupid.. something a west ham or man united would do..

I reckon someone has hacked into starlizard and given crap info.. it doesn't make sense..
