25 man squad

So, a squad of 24 then. Granted he is a long way down the pecking order, but what is the point of not naming Schelotto as the 25th? The club is still presumably paying his wages, so what is actually gained by not including him in the squad?

Yes - I was fooled by that PL website that was linked to a few posts back, which appears to only show 24 in the squad - they've shown Barclay among the youth team players close to the squad - but of course he is actually in the squad. 25 it is.

Looks like Dan Burn will be incorporated into the 25 man squad in January ( following on from Hughton's recent interview ).

Schelotto is surely gone, and Barclay ( loan ) and Suttner could also maybe depart.

Meaning up to 2 more further recruits in January, as well as Burn.

Well don't need anyone really. Not enough to pay over the odds anyway in January. Wait until the summer. We have players that can't even get into the first 11.
Of course if we were to lose a valuable player then things can change.
If Fulham go down there are a couple of players we should be sniffing around.

We need another CM in the Stephens mould (potentially more of a CDM than Stephens). Not desperately, but only having 4 CMs when we often start with 3 is not good depth. I would imagine that we are going to see a lot of players like Bissouma coming into the club over the next few years; young, exciting and full of potential but most importantly with a great opportunity to make a profit on them if they come good.

I would hope that we can start looking ahead, planning for the future, and that any purchase in January will be with a view to giving them a long 'settling' period so they are ready to be in the first team from game 1 of next season.

I agree, does seem strange,especially with Jose still injured...

I have a sneaking unsubstantiated suspicion that we will sign another attack minded player...

every window CH plays down any business....(even when someone is in next door room signing a contract!)(Propper i believe)

Last Jan....no business, or minimal at least and we sign Locadia and Ulloa. It just strikes me as weird that most teams will make at least one signing to plug gaps/strengthen and lets face it, its hardly like we are top of the league and cant improve...

Must be down to Barber. He is trying to save money or generate income everywhere. I heard him say that if we can be Palace with 10 men, why do we need 15 players doing nothing. Make do with 12.
