I once saw George O'Callaghan out on a friday night in Brighton in the bar of the St Christopher's hostel. He was drinking jagerbombs

He stayed until last orders. I assumed he was injured/not playing for Brighton the next day. Nope, he started in central midfield.

George O'C started FOUR games, during his spell, that were played at home, on a Saturday:

01.09.07 BHA 3-2 Southend (played 90 minutes)
22.09.07 BHA 1-2 Yeovil (played 90 minutes)
06.10.07 BHA 0-0 Bristol Rovers (played 90 minutes)
My money is on the last of the four...
24.11.07 BHA 2-2 Carlisle (started but got a straight RED on 65 minutes, with the Albion 1-2 down...)

yeh sounds like the hangover starting really hitting him after about an hour and he'd had enough

reminds me of when I was managing a team. We were short one week and one of our players said he had a german mate from work who'd be free

he'd never trained with us so when he turned up on the saturday, with a ponytail and a carton of coconut water (which I later found out was his hangover cure) and asked him what position he was he simply said "midfield"

I was thinking as he was german he could probably do a job as a kind of Beckenbauer style defender so stuck him at the back but gave him license to roam. He took that license and very much ran with it as he spent the whole half going on epic solo runs and then strolling back when he lost the ball

realising I'd made a mistake I move him forward at half time and once again he was all about the solo runs.

The next game he once again turned up hungover. I told him to not worry about position and just do what he wanted. He scored two goals and was the best player on the pitch

He'd always turn up about 5 minutes before kick off time, and then stopped coming as our 2pm kick off times were "too early"

I imagine that's what managing George O'Callaghan was like

Vicente was magic. He used to do stuff that didn't seem actually possible. Don't know I've ever seen another player in person who could receive a ball dropping from the heavens and just take all the pace off it like he could. Just frankly incredible

If he'd been fit regularly he'd likely have been one of our most key players ever. On the other hand, if he'd been fit regularly he wouldn't have played for us.

Cannot believe Calde has progressed out of this group. What are people THINKING?!
Love the guy, but he ain't flair.

He was reliable, dependable and very uncontroversial. Consummate professional, no tricks and flicks but worked hard.

Once again an NSC proves it has zero understanding of what FLAIR means. The fact that Jonathan Dixon esq has not made it through is nothing short of a disgrace.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
