Good ol Boy Tommy Tuberville has been elected as a Senator for Alabama. Aside appearing to have little knowledge of the US government structure, he's not up to speed with his history. Apparently the Americans in WW2 “liberated Europe from socialism and communism." Wait until he finds out who's side Stalin was on. That'll really confuse him.

Saturday is going to be interesting in Washington...
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/11/maga-rally-washington-dc-435958
"The disparate tribes of MAGA Nation — Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, Infowars fanatics, Groypers, Proud Boys, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and the people who would simply call themselves die-hard MAGA — have declared that they are simply going to show up in Washington en masse over the weekend to rally together, with the marquee event on Saturday."
As they're Alt Right, he's claiming that he might join them.
Jesus wept. Has he lost his mind?
Americans are more scared of something they perceive to be socialism (which it’s not) than something which is fascism (which they can’t see.)

I knew this was going to happen:-

(narrators voice - "nobody could ever have predicted this")
Remember during the Brexit negotiations when we had a hung parliament and there were all those loons outside the HoC and everyone in the rest of the world thought Brits were absolutely Radio Rental? Well, this has the potential to surpass it. With guns.

I've had endless discussions with the Americans I work with about their perception of socialism. They always refer to Universal Health Care or Obama Care as socialized medicine. When you try and explain how the NHS works they just don't get it. And yet they seem completely happy when in 2008 the government bailed out most of the large banks but let the people who had lost their homes and jobs fend for them selves - if that's not socialism for the 1% I don't know what is

‘The demonstrators were also identifiable by their lack of face-masks as many participants rejected measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.’ (BBC website)
It’s a shame this doesn’t invalidate health insurance policies for anyone subsequently diagnosed with the virus. The selfishness of this gathering is off the scale. A few financial consequences might help.

Hopefully they're just infecting one another. Mass Darwin award.
Yeah, but then they go and interact with humans and the virus spreads. If they could be isolated, it would be the ideal perfect storm. But they'll go back into the world and spread, spread, spread like only an arguably extremely infectious virus can.

Not a bad idea - perhaps the health insurance companies will latch on to this as a way of saving their money! They could be doing their country a service too - a well directed cull of parts of the gene pool!
