The Story So Far........Always does well without ever really troubling the big guns, this fishy fiend impressed in the first round, finishing second with 18 votes (17.65%)

Cassowary

The Story So Far......Came third in what looked like it was going to be a closely contested group D. This winged wonder gathered an impressive 15 votes (16.85%). Comes every year with a big reputation to live up to, but never quite makes it, could this be the year?

There's three cracking ties in this half of the draw that could go either way (I expect the Honey Badger to coast through his heat).

I know the defending champ the Orca's in there, but the other half of the draw doesn't look all that really in comparison.

The Cassowary is a headcase, IMO should be a quarter finalist minimum, but I fear the GWS will absolutely rape it here.

i agree, these battles are going to be pretty intense, the other four ties will be:

Orca vs Tardigrade......i expect orca to breeze through that
Grizzly Bear vs Tarantula Hawk.......again, not many insect fans on here so i expect the bear to walk that one
Wolverine vs Komodo Dragon.....the pick for me, could be pretty tight, the wolverine has a bit of a cult following and the dragon always does well
Rhino vs Black Mamba.....not a lot of snake fans, the Rhino was dominating that group before tailing off to finish 4th, Black Mamba won a fairly weak group c which was marred by apathy from the start

The cassowary looks like a special bus sock puppet. I find it hard to believe that a sock puppet could ever really be all that hard. The GWS however is a known hardcase. Shark for me.

Attenborough exposed the GWS for what it really is – basically a moving dustbin, which is not nearly as aggressive as previously thought.

Cassowary to win this one, IMO.

It's mismatches like this that do this great competition a grave injustice.

GWS by a landslide, I'm not even going to bother explaining why.

Exactly, Cassowary looks like Rod Hull's emu after years of substance abuse and steroids.
