I ticked most but thinking about targetting the Handball as it looks pretty fast and exciting.
Me too. It's really annoying that the recession put paid to our Olympic handball team. It looks like a quality game and we're going to be shithouse now, that's if we have a team at all.

Going through that list made me realise how much MORE exciting the Winter Olympics are.

I've gone for athletics, cycling (BMX and track, we're good at that), modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing, beach volleyball, tennis, triathlon, diving, fencing, football and both the opening and closing ceremonies

I'm sorry, but how can BMX be considered an Olympic even

What is it, a tournament for paperboys ?

The seaside.
Pissed off that baseball got scrapped from the Olympics (was going to be in Regents Park). Was about to sign up - football, hockey, tennis, beach volleyball - but they insist on you saying what country you support, which is well out of order. So sod 'em.

Is this not just a ruse to bombard those who register with junk email for the next year before the ACTUAL ticket prices are set?

I hope that LOCOG are thinking as I am thinking.

That It is fair to assume that 90% of the registrations are from people who have not put a PENNY into supporting the athletes, and, if as widely expected, they will create a Canadian style Own the Podium fundraising drive, this will give them the database to do so.

This sort of campaign is about three years too late, and I wonder how popular this will be...existing example such as About Us / BAC s elite athletes have hardly set the world alight!

BTW, before anyone moans that they have bought lottery tickets to fund the athletes, to paraphrase the BBC's Adrain Moorhouse in Beijing...'no-one plays the lottery just to support sport.'

So, register then back your athletes...or perhaps the people at LOCOG might just have the balls to give priority to those who say pledge £20.12 to the athletes and create a Supporters Club, as they do in cricket, football, rugby union, tennis etc etc...
