Eagle Owl
eurasian_eagle_owl.jpg

It mainly feeds on small mammals, but can kill prey up to the size of foxes and young deer (up to 10 kg/22 lb), if taken by surprise. Larger prey (over 3 kg/7 lb) is consumed on the ground which leaves the bird vulnerable (for example to foxes). It is said to be routinely able to swallow a hedgehog whole.

the peregrine because I once did a school project on them and they always look slightly unhinged.

This is a very weak group, like the equivalent of what Man United get every year in Europe.

Mosquito can f*** off. The Golden Eagle throws GOATS off MOUNTAINS. That, my friends, is essentially the definition of hard.

Golden Eagle all day long. Mosquito can f*** right off, how did that slip through the net in the nomination stage? It's not hard.

Edit: Just seen I've pretty much copied the guy above me. Apologies!

The weakest group so far by a country mile, but I'll go with the Golden Eagle as I saw it into the the group stage.

Golden Eagle by far. I remember a youtube video of last years competition of the eagle throwing moutain goats off the edge. (Something like that)

Has the world's hardest animal changed since last year? Or the year before. Or the year before... *yawn*
