Let's get this thread going then. I'm not really sure how I'll do this year. My training has been a bit erratic of late and I'm not really sure what shape I'm in. Did a nice 6 miler this morning though.

Last year was 94 mins...... good luck.

Too late Ted. It's tomorrow, up and down the seafront, but first a little excursion up to the bottom of New England Hill.

I'm going to struggle to improve on my 1:37 of last year and even my 1:41 of the year before that. My running's been going badly over the last month but the weather looks good for tommorow so I'm going to give it my best shot!

1:32 and 38 seconds which I'm pleased with. The last 3 miles were awful though. I was on target for sub 90 mins at the 10 miles mark (mainly due to running the first half too fast) but then slowed right up.

Pissed off there were no medals.

They are a bit slow on the website with the results. Linking it live with the chips would be nice. I want to see if my niece has whipped your arse.

Well Done to all who participated

I chucked some shrapnel in a bucket on my walk along the front this morning for the good cause

The runners seemed to be mingling with the morning strollers which seemed a funny set-up!?

Dodge the pedestrian?

I saw a twat ride through the runners on his bike with a load of fishing poles under his arm, he smacked them into someone and hurled some abuse at the runner asking him to 'come here mate, lets sort this out'. f*** off you simpleton, don't ride your bike across a running event!

Oh and also some parent let their kid run across and then proceeded to stop dead infront of my running mate and got flattened, there was a steward nearby that waved us on and bollocked the parents.

The last 3 miles were evil, when you came down and saw the finish line only to run out duke's mound then up round the marina - I thought I was doing well and near the finish until I emerged from that tunnel, then my ankle started to hurt twice as much as it used to and all my positive thoughts soon vanished.

I know what you mean about positive thoughts

Many moons ago I did a 10 mile sponsored walk for The Scouts from The Palace Pier to The Lagoon, back along to The Marina and then back to The Palace Pier, all on my tod in the pissing rain!

And with(out) a smile on my mush :shootself

7 minute miles - that's still a great effort.

I'm using (road) running for general fitness now - are there any other Nike+ NSCers?

I used this morning as part of my training for London Marathon.

I'm hoping to complete London in about 4 1/2 hours so was plaesed with my effort of 2 hours 4 minutes today.

Well done to all those who took part.

I use Nike+, have found it to be a great motivational tool as I'm currently training for this year's London marathon. Sadly I've got a knee injury and haven't been able to run for 2 weeks. Seeing the physio tomorrow and hope to be able to get back into training next week.

See my post, I hit a wall with 3 miles to go as well. I was really clinging on as I ran up the various ramps, past the marina and back again. It's a bit of blur to be honest.

Pisser no medal for all of that.
